MLB to address porn bots spamming Facebook streams

Major League Baseball issued a statement indicating the league is aware of porn bots spamming game broadcasts on Facebook Live and vowed to institute “proper safeguards” to deal with how the tawdry, adult-entertainment-oriented messages are infiltrating the comments. Last week, The Athletic’s Zach Buchanan took note of how some porn bots had infiltrated the thread during the Facebook Live stream of the game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Philadelphia Phillies. Buchanan has since reached out to Major League Baseball and Facebook, with both outfits issuing statements on the matter, as chronicled by Big League Stew.“This is a concern and we are working with Facebook to ensure the proper safeguards are in place,” an MLB spokesperson told The Athletic.A Facebook spokesperson vowed a specific line of attack to eliminate the scourge.“There is no place for activity such as this during these MLB broadcasts.
