Aaron Boone addresses Giancarlo Stanton’s ongoing Yankee Stadium struggles

Giancarlo Stanton has had a rough start overall in his first season with the New York Yankees, but his struggles at his new home ballpark in the Bronx have been particularly alarming.Stanton seems to be getting his footing back somewhat on the road, but Yankee Stadium has been another matter entirely. After an absolutely atrocious start at home early on this season, Stanton’s struggles have continued.Stanton is hitting .202 in 29 home games through Monday with six homers, 15 RBIs, 43 strikeouts in 114 at-bats and a .676 OPC compared to .302 in 22 road games with five homers, 13 RBIs 27 strikeouts in 86 at-bats and a .941 OPS, via NJ.com. And things continue to go from bad to worse for Stanton at Yankee Stadium, as he is 1-for-17 with eight strikeouts in four games on the Yankees’ current homestand. That awful run was highlighted by Stanton whiffing himself to a Golden Sombrero in Monday’s 5-1 loss to the Houston Astros thanks to striking out four times.
