Jacob deGrom’s frustration mounting after latest Mets loss

Jacob deGrom gave up only one earned run in seven innings of work — which was interrupted by 31-minute weather delay — and still watched the New York Mets lose another game, this time by a score of 4-3 to the Atlanta Braves, the team’s fourth straight. The Mets did recover to win Monday’s second-half of a doubleheader by beating the Braves 8-5 to stop the slide.Still, deGrom has put up two consecutive brilliant starts, pitching 14 innings and surrendering only one earned run while allowing nine total hits and lowering his stellar ERA to 1.52, good for best in the National League. And the Mets lost both games. The right-hander’s ERA over his past seven starts is a minuscule 0.45.
