Ben Roethlisberger on Tuesday said he plans “on playing for three to five more years” in an ideal world. That being said, the Pittsburgh Steelers veteran quarterback insists during that time he will do whatever he can do to help Mason Rudolph develop into his successor-in-waiting.The Steelers began developing the framework of a future without Big Ben by selecting Rudolph out of Oklahoma State with the 76th selection in the third round of the draft last week.Roethlisberger obviously won’t be looking over his shoulder at Rudolph anytime soon, perhaps explaining in part why the 36-year-old will gladly spend time tutoring his understudy. Roethlisberger hailed Rudolph as “a good football player” while pointing out he’ll treat Rudolph no differently than any of his previous backups. “You know he’s able to play.
