Drake, Kendrick Perkins weigh in on what inspired Game 1 confrontations

Toronto Raptors superfan and musician Drake, as he is wont to do from time to time, mixed it up with a player of an opposing team during Game 1 of the team’s Eastern Conference semifinal series with the Cleveland Cavaliers. This time, Kendrick Perkins was the target of Drake’s ire. The first of two incidents involving Drake and Perkins, who was not even suited up for the game, began beefing at halftime of the Cavaliers’ thrilling 113-112 victory at Air Canada Centre. Things again came to a head after the game when the two began jawing with one another. Perksin later explained what inspired the confrontations in a text message to ESPN, per a tweet from Adrian Wojnarowski.“What happened was I was talking to my old teammate Serge (Ibaka) walking into halftime telling him ‘We about to win this game,’ and Drake butted in talking (expletive) to me.
