Radio host to make good on gross promise after Mayfield pick

One Cleveland sports radio host is preparing to deal with the consequences of a very, very bad promise he made leading up to the NFL Draft.The general belief was that Sam Darnold, not Baker Mayfield, would be the quarterback selected first overall by the Cleveland Browns Thursday night. WKNR host Aaron Goldhammer was so sure that Mayfield wouldn’t be the choice that he promised to “eat poop” — more specifically horse manure — if Mayfield became the first overall pick.You already know by now what happened — and yes, Goldhammer says he’ll follow through on his promise. Look, it’s almost never a good idea to make bold guarantees such as this one. If you feel you must, though, go for something that, while unpleasant, isn’t downright disgusting, like this Cubs writer did. You’ll be filled with regret, but at least that’s bearable, whereas Goldhammer will never, ever live this down.
